DESCRIPTION
Polycarbonate (PC), better known by the commercial brands, Makrolon® or Lexan®, is a highly impact resistant, transparent, thermoplastic material. Compact sheets are available in a large variety of thicknesses and in transparent, translucent and smoky grey or brown versions. The sheets can easily be cut into panels or milled, thermoformed or cold bent to form protective surfaces for a wide variety of applications.
LPT is the BayerTM distributor for the Piedmont and, with the Makrolon® brand, guarantees the use of high quality sheets created from the best raw materials.
APPLICATION
Excellent impact resistance allows for use in high-risk areas such as security windows, pipeline panels, verandas, parapets or safety guards, protection for devices or machinery and unbreakable containers. It can also be used in ceiling lights, advertising plates and illuminated displays.
PROPERTIES
Polycarbonate sheets offer the best combination of unparalleled properties: strength, transparency, lightness, flexibility, heat and flame resistance, long life and safety. They posses an extremely high impact strength, guaranteed to a temperature of -100°C.
