POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), most known by the trademark Teflon®, is produced through the polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene.

Available in sheets, rods and sleeves, in white or natural coloured or it can have glass, graphite, stainless steel added varying the properties according to need.

It can be cut or processed with machine tools.

Features

Very noble material, absolutely self-lubricating, with the lowest friction coefficient of all solids. Absolute chemical inertness, exceptional dielectric and electrical properties, discrete mechanical properties, excellent resistance to shock, complete non-toxicity, negligible water absorption.

Applications

Polytetrafluoroethylene is suitable for sophisticated applications, in aggressive environments, high or low temperatures, strong friction, under very strict tolerances.
